My Approach
No two people are the same, and that holds true for the people who come to me for help. Every individual has a different background, different perspectives, and different problems they would like to work on. Keeping this in mind, I try to be flexible in my approach to psychotherapy, tailoring to the needs of each unique person who comes to my office. My training has afforded me the freedom to be very integrative as a therapist, pulling from several different treatment modalities, including interventions from Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, DIR/Floortime, Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy, and mindfulness traditions. Primarily, though, my approach is broadly Psychodynamic—I will provide space for you to speak your mind and express your feelings, and we will work together to identify patterns in thoughts, feelings, behaviors, history, and relationships that are holding the you back, leading to suffering, or maybe just making you feel “stuck.”
